The required operating point

Flow and Pressure Must Arrive at the Nozzle Together

A typical starting reference is approximately 30 psi minimum operating pressure, with many applications reviewed in the 40–60 psi range and 40–50 psi often preferred. The selected nozzle’s approved data and the project design always control.

The pump curve must show that the pump can deliver the required flow after static lift, pipe friction, valves, fittings, filters, manifolds and nozzle pressure are all included.

Pump curve

Use the manufacturer’s curve at the required operating point and leave a responsible design margin.

VFD control

A variable-frequency drive can trim and control a suitable pump; it cannot correct a fundamentally undersized pump or piping system.

Measure after installation

Confirm actual flow, nozzle pressure, gas delivery, motor load and the treatment response during commissioning.
